Hell, there's times where you can change something in FIFA and not even know the change went through. In all my years playing FIFA I don't recall ever changing my attack like that and it basically working instantly. I've played PES last year and occasionally dating back to 2012, but I am mainly a FIFA guy. I strung a few nice passes together and played a low through ball from outside the box, to the middle of the box and Giroud just tapped it in. After changing to that I completely dominated him after he would lose the ball because I would just kick the ball ahead and go in with numbers. So I change to a counter attack in minute 77. The guy was still trying to press to go up 2-0.

I was getting outplayed as I just couldn't string many passes together. I'm a massive soccer fan but never played it growing up so I don't have the ins and outs of that stuff. I'm also not a tactical genius or the type of guy who may stay in perfect position all the time. Let me first say, I'm not very good at PES as I don't have the button combinations down for various moves or any of that stuff. Last year it was arbitrary and more often than not it defaulted to night matches, the light for which is awful. One suggestion / plea for Konami – please include the option to choose day / night matches in all modes (including season). For example, if you are controlling Payet, you just feel like taking a player on or cutting in with a quick burst of speed (like Payet does in real life). When you are controlling a player, you know who it is and psychologically it arms you with the desire and freedom to play like that player plays in real life. I had about 10 games and each felt very different, depending on who I was playing. There is an organic and loose feel about it. The difference between last year and this year is miles bigger compared to 20. I experienced some online lag – but only on 2 of my 10 matches playedĬlosing comments – The game looks vastly improved – both in terms of graphics / animations and in terms of gameplay. Music is terrible (as always) – no biggy – I always switch it off Menus still look they are from 80s – no biggy The commentary is old and tired, Drury still shouts needlessly and both commentators talk over one another when a goal is scored Note - If this is to do with pass the assistance level, it’s not a bad thing. Maybe I still need to get used to the controls or maybe it was online lag but my passes felt a bit slower to execute and a bit shorter (in terms of distance travelled). Textures, shadows and light look almost as if they are played on a previous generation console. Matches played at night and in the rain look much inferior graphically. The passes look less assisted (I noticed assistance is locked at level 1 and cannot be changed in the Beta). Not sure if the indicators for player assist were there last year, but this is the first time I’ve seen them and they help massively The new “shielding the ball” animation looks great and it really does add to the plethora of commands and the overall experience

They also distribute the ball better with their hands This year it feel like they have an in-between speed as well. I don’t think the pace is slower, what I am noticing is that the players now move at a wider variety of speeds. I see many people say the game pace is slower. Now you can almost battle to win the ball back with the same player Players take a shorter time to recover from a tackle (last year they were practically “out of action” for a good second after a tackle. It would be better to have sunshine and rain in the same match (currently it’s just drizzle and then rain).

ĝynamic weather is a cool idea though I am still on the fence if it actually adds anything to the game. It now follows the ball from the kicker’s viewpoint – instead of switching to vertical once the ball has been kicked ĝaytime (sunny) matches look stunning (sadly not the same can be said about night time matches or matches in the rain) Graphics are much sharper and colours are more vibrant The midfield is much more compact – the spaces from years past have been reduced drastically though I am not sure if this was due to tactics (I noticed tactics were pre-selected, though I did not explore which ones). Many more loose balls and passes going astray (compared to last year) In true PES style, everything feels unpredictable.

There is a sense of freedom I have never experienced before. Player individualities stand out – both in terms of how they look and how they move / play If Konami gave us the option to choose day / night matches in all modes – I would be extremely happy.
PES 6 ONLINE SERVERS PS2
Granted the beta’s objective is to gauge the online experience, I can’t help but notice how the game has changed in all areas – mostly positively.īeen playing since the PS2 days and based on what I saw last night, this is one hell of an effort.
